POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY
Positive psychology is the study of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and focusing them on strengths instead of weaknesses to build a good life instead of repairing the bad.
With this approach, therapists facilitate clients to think about their character strengths, life optimisms, gratitude, well-being, self-esteem, confidence, compassion to self and others, hope, and satisfaction in life.
MINDFULNESS
Mindfulness is an evidence-based practice that brings positive benefits to health, happiness, work, and relationships. Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present.
To be mindful is to be aware of where we are, what we are doing, and to be able to avoid overreacting and becoming overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. We can cultivate this ability of being mindful by practicing meditation and merging it with other activities such as yoga, sports, or art.
COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (CBT)
CBT is a form of psychological treatment that helps people learn to identify and change automatic destructive thought patterns that have a negative impact on behavior and emotions. Through CBT clients can learn what their automatic negative thoughts are and practice identifying, challenging, and replacing them with positive, realistic thoughts.
DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY (DBT)
DBT is a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that teaches how to live in the moment, regulate emotions, improve relationships with others, and how to cope with stress using healthy strategies. The most important strategy in DBT is mindfulness because it helps clients to stay calm and avoid engaging in automatic negative thought patterns and impulse behavior. The therapist will also use techniques to teach clients to accept themselves and the current situation in order to become more assertive in the relationship and to identify, name, and change their emotions.
ART THERAPY
Art Therapy is a specialized modality to help clients to explore emotions, improve symptoms of anxiety and depression, increase self-esteem, manage addictions, relieve stress, and resolve other psychological conflicts through the process of art making. The goal of art therapy is to help people explore self expression and to find new ways of gaining personal insight and developing new coping skills through the process of drawing, painting, coloring, sculpting, or collage.
